The brief
The Motor Neurone Disease Association wanted to raise its profile as a key element in a major new fund-raising campaign.
Our approach
Our concept was to invite relatives, friends and professional acquaintances of the actor David Niven – who died of Motor Neurone Disease in 1983 – to contribute their handwritten memories of him to a unique album, complete with their autographs. We helped organise and manage a gala ball at Pinewood Studios to celebrate the life of the actor and the work of the charity, with a guest list that included a number of celebrities from the acting profession and film world. The album was auctioned at the event to form the foundation of the new fund-raising campaign.
The result
The event attracted considerable media interest by virtue of its unusual location and distinguished guest list – and equally a significant boost of interest in the work of the charity and donations to its funds.
