The brief
Long-established pharmaceutical company William Ransom needed expert strategic guidance when acquisition by a listed PLC necessitated a head office relocation, plus redundancies at two locations where they had strong historic links.

Our approach
We proposed that, because of the strong personal relationship that had existed for many years between the company and the communities in which it operated, William Ransom’s Chairman should meet and discuss the situation in person with the employees. We also engaged the local press through effective press releases timed to coincide with the Chairman’s briefings.

The result
The press in both areas ran the story as a positive one – and the PLC’s share price rose as a direct result.
